Abstract

Abstract: In the period of Dali Kingdom, after the land and water pathway along Lancang-Mekong River was opened by the Nanzhao
government with force, neighboring countries had constructed a convenient transportation network, with which the Dali kingdom had
established its foreign relationships with other Southeast Asian countries. Although the pathway was faced with a geopolitical dilemma,
generally it has promoted the interconnections among the ancient countries in the Lancang-Mekong River Basin.
